Much to my incredible shock I actually posted an entry to this very blog on Kilchoman 5 years ago. Brother Tao followed that up with a homework posting on Kilchoman! I, of course, had completely forgotten all of this when I posted this entry. It ended up being a good idea nonetheless bringing Kilchoman's name and methods to more recent prominence in our group.

I highly recommend doing a search on Kilchoman and reading the 4 and 5 year old postings on the subject as they contain some interesting details.

As an aside, Tao also posted a homework article on the Glengyle distillery and its malt Kilkerran which you will be sure to (re-)read.

One other thing about Kilchoman. They are aging it in fresh bourbon barrels and then finishing it in oloroso sherry hogsheads.

They are distributing it to 15 markets/countries but not the United States as of yet.
