{"id":686,"date":"2010-03-16T20:35:58","date_gmt":"2010-03-17T02:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepersofthequaich.org\/?p=686"},"modified":"2010-03-16T20:47:46","modified_gmt":"2010-03-17T02:47:46","slug":"signatory-bruichladdich-18-year-1989","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepersofthequaich.org\/?p=686","title":{"rendered":"Signatory Bruichladdich 18 year 1989"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, I attended a scotch tasting with Brother Lakeview and Brother Ville&#8230;.well, I didn&#8217;t really attend for long but before leaving placed an order for a relatively new offering from Signatory&#8212;an 18 year old Bruichladdich, vintage 1989.<\/p>\n<p>I got the chance to open the bottle tonight, and was somewhat surprised by the scotch.\u00a0\u00a0 The nose is floral and perfumy then followed by a whiff of alcohol pad.\u00a0\u00a0 The palate is sweet and oaky with a warm finish.\u00a0\u00a0 The sweetness is more of a citrus fruit than chocolate or caramel.\u00a0\u00a0 I found it easy to drink although for an 18 year old, it doesn&#8217;t seem to have a lot of complexity in the palate.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It definitely does not follow the typical Islay characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>But, while searching for other tasting notes for this release, I came across this blog:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotchchix.com\" target=_blank>www.scotchchix.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Check it out sometime if you&#8217;re looking for a female&#8217;s perspective on some of our favorite scotches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, I attended a scotch tasting with Brother Lakeview and Brother Ville&#8230;.well, I didn&#8217;t really attend for long but before leaving placed an order for a relatively new offering from Signatory&#8212;an 18 year old Bruichladdich, vintage 1989.
