Like the nose better than the Caol Ila 12 yo
Really like this...it is what the Caol Ila 12 traditional aspires to be.

Grassy, Smokey, Salty
A brief burst of pepper and heat
Rather smooth compared to the rest of the experience
After Brother Bop's convincing argument, I thought this was Caol Ila as well, but thought it was the 18 year expression because of the fairly smooth finish...

Interesting, I'd buy it at its current price point but not rushing to buy it vs. others available between $55 and $60. A bit of a letdown relative to the preceding 4 whiskys tasted tonight.

Not terribly sophisticated or amazing but enjoyable
Caol Ila is a great distillery. Period. From 12 to 30 and everything in between. This was a highlight.
