Too hot. Not enough of that spring bank oil that I like.
I cut it and it went totally dead. Very disappointing.

Cherry
Dry - probably from the pinot noir
I liked it more than most at the meeting. I think the pinot influence masks some traditional Campbeltown impact but this is fun, unique idea that I think works.

Sharper than I expected. Looking for the petroleum smell that isn’t strong
Light olive oil
Not as strong a character as the vintage 21 from the 1990s and early 2000s which had a much more rubbery oil taste like a Chuck Taylor sneaker (which was a great thing). This is lighter and less charactered.

Quite dark with a reddish hue
Oily influence which is classic Springbank
Harsh with bourbon undertones and maybe a hint of black cherry
A little too direct
Bluff had a Hazelburn 8 from 2009 that was aged in bourbon only and not Sauternes as this one has. He says much of the richness of this expression stems from the Sauternes influence.

Way better than the original. The Sauternes does wonders.
