I tried using WordPress “modules” out of their normal architecture when I first started implementing it and I wasn’t too comfortable with the results. However, I tried the post link that you had listed in doing my latest post…I figured if it worked maybe it would be alright 🙂
Unfortunately, when you finish the post it doesn’t send you back to the blog main/home page. It keeps you in the admin area just as if you had gone there the normal way. In the end having a post link on the home page only saves you one click at best. If it had returned you to the page from which it was launched I would have been willing to give it a go.
There is a relatively easy answer to this. For the technologically inclined, you can use the “bookmarklet” option described at the bottom of the post or write page. With this installed in IE, (being java, I think it will work in most browsers) you are never more than a right click away from a new post.
If this daunts you, I know of a good consulting agency call Chicago Tech Help… No, I won’t go there. I will try to post a detailed description or maybe an automated way to do it when I get a few more seconds free.
Well said Brother Tao! You beat me by 6 weeks to this 😀
The WordPress Bookmarklet is the way to do this. The instructions for installing a Posting “Bookmarklet” in your IE browser are listed at the bottom of the Write Posts page in admin.
