Last year at Whiskyfest, I had the opportunity to taste The Glenlivet 12 French Oak. I enjoyed it, I think especially because of the woodiness in the early palate. I thought it was more sophisticated than the unremarkable, standard bar single malt. I look forward to trying the 15 at some point.

Yes, its actually interesting, a quick look in the tasting notes section reveals a positive response to the Glenlivet 12 French Oak by the entire faithful.

In fact, the standard Glenlivet expressions didn’t seem to make that good of an impression but the French Oak did. Good idea putting the 15 yo FO on our radar screen.
